This website, Become a Driving Instructor North East, is run by Drive Automatic Driving School (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you contact us and how we use it.
What we collect
When you use our enquiry forms, we collect your name, phone number, email address and town or area. We also ask whether you hold a full UK licence and how long you've held it, your penalty points, whether you've had a driving ban, your current training stage, and anything you write in your message. If you contact us by phone, email, WhatsApp or Facebook, we receive the details you share there.
Why we collect it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, check whether you meet the DVSA requirements to train as an Approved Driving Instructor, and arrange and deliver your training. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We may share your enquiry with our ORDIT-registered trainer so they can arrange your training. We also use service providers who host our website and email. If you message us through WhatsApp or Facebook, those services (run by Meta) will process your messages under their own privacy policies. We'll share your details with others only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry doesn't go any further, we keep it for up to 12 months. If you train with us, we keep your records for as long as we need them to provide your training and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
